Settings
Configure global preferences and default values for Piecer.
Accessing Settings
Click the Settings icon in the top navigation bar, or access settings through your profile menu.
Pattern Defaults
Default Unit
Set the default measurement unit for new patterns.
- Metric (cm): Centimeters - standard for most of the world
- Imperial (in): Inches - common in the US
Changing this setting affects new patterns only. Existing patterns keep their original unit. You can change units per-pattern in the editor.
Default Seam Allowance
Set the default seam allowance width for new pieces.
- Default: 1.0 cm (or 0.4 inches)
- Range: 0 - 5 cm
- Applied when you enable seam allowance on a new piece
- Can be overridden per piece or per edge
Default Paper Size
Set the default paper size for PDF exports.
- A4 (210 × 297 mm) - Default for metric users
- Letter (8.5 × 11 in) - Default for US users
- Other sizes available in Print Mode
View Preferences
These settings control the default canvas appearance when opening patterns.
Show Grid
- On: Display grid lines on canvas (default)
- Off: Clean canvas without grid
Dotted Grid
When grid is enabled, choose the grid style:
- Lines: Traditional grid lines
- Dots: Dot pattern at grid intersections (less visual clutter)
Snap to Grid
- On: Points snap to grid when drawing/moving (default)
- Off: Free placement without snapping
Show Rulers
- On: Display rulers along canvas edges
- Off: Hide rulers for more canvas space
Show Measurements
- On: Always show line measurements
- Off: Only show when dragging points
Show Connections
- On: Display line connection indicators
- Off: Hide connection lines for cleaner view
Appearance
Theme
Choose your color scheme.
- Light: Light background, dark text
- Dark: Dark background, light text
- System: Match your operating system preference
Canvas Background
The canvas background color adapts to your theme:
- Light mode: Light gray canvas
- Dark mode: Dark gray canvas
Account Settings
Profile
- Display Name: Your public username
- Avatar: Profile picture (shown in community)
- Bio: Optional description
Email
- Update your email address
- Email notifications preferences
Password
- Change your password
- Requires current password verification
Export Preferences
PDF Export Defaults
- Include Overview Page: On/Off
- Show Page Numbers: On/Off
- Registration Marks: On/Off
SVG Export Defaults
- Include Hidden Layers: On/Off
- Flatten Groups: On/Off

Data & Privacy
Export Your Data
Download all your patterns and settings.
- Includes all patterns as JSON
- Fabric library export
- Project organization data
Delete Account
Permanently delete your account and all data.
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All patterns, fabrics, and projects will be deleted.
