Push Notifications
Stay updated with real-time notifications when someone interacts with your patterns and fabrics.
What You'll Be Notified About
Piecer sends push notifications for the following events:
- New followers - When someone starts following you
- Pattern likes - When someone likes your published pattern
- Fabric collection likes - When someone likes your published fabric collection
- New patterns from people you follow - When creators you follow publish new patterns
- Shared fabrics - When creators you follow share new fabrics or collections
Enabling Notifications
On Desktop (Chrome, Firefox, Edge)
- Go to Studio > Inbox (
/studio/inbox) - Find the Push Notifications card at the top
- Click the Enable button
- When your browser asks for permission, click Allow
- You'll see a confirmation notification once enabled
On iOS (iPhone/iPad)
Push notifications on iOS require the app to be installed as a Web App:
- Open piecer.app in Safari
- Tap the Share button (square with arrow)
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen
- Tap Add to confirm
- Open Piecer from your home screen
- Go to Studio > Inbox (
/studio/inbox) - Tap Enable on the Push Notifications card
- Allow notifications when prompted

Push notifications only work when Piecer is installed as a Web App on iOS. They won't work in the regular Safari browser.
On Android
- Open piecer.app in Chrome
- You may see an "Add to Home Screen" prompt - tap it
- Or tap the three dots menu > Add to Home Screen
- Open Piecer from your home screen
- Go to Studio > Inbox (
/studio/inbox) - Tap Enable on the Push Notifications card
- Allow notifications when prompted
Disabling Notifications
To stop receiving push notifications:
- Go to Studio > Inbox (
/studio/inbox) - Click the Disable button on the Push Notifications card
You can re-enable notifications at any time by clicking Enable again.
Troubleshooting
Not receiving notifications?
- Check browser permissions - Make sure notifications are allowed for piecer.app in your browser settings
- Check device settings - Ensure notifications are enabled for your browser at the OS level
- Try disabling and re-enabling - Go to Inbox, click Disable, then Enable again to refresh your subscription
- Clear service worker - In browser DevTools > Application > Service Workers, unregister the worker and refresh
iOS-specific issues
- Make sure the app is added to your home screen
- Ensure you're using iOS 16.4 or later
- Check that Focus Mode isn't blocking notifications
- Verify notifications are enabled in Settings > Piecer
Brave Browser
Brave may block push notifications by default. To enable:
- Go to
brave://settings/privacy - Enable "Use Google services for push messaging"
- Return to Piecer and enable notifications
Viewing Your Notifications
All notifications appear in your Inbox in the Studio. You can:
- See all recent notifications
- Mark notifications as read
- Clear all notifications
Notifications are automatically deleted after 2 weeks.
Privacy
- Push notification subscriptions are stored securely on our servers
- We only send notifications for events relevant to your account
- You can disable notifications at any time
- Unsubscribing removes your subscription from our servers
