Fabrics Tab

The Fabrics tab (/studio/fabrics) manages your fabric library.

Building Your Fabric Library

Your fabric library can include:

  • Fabrics you create - Custom swatches with your own colors and properties
  • Fabrics from the community - Add fabrics shared by other users to your library

Fabric Cards

Each fabric card shows:

  • Color swatch: The fabric's right-side color
  • Name: Fabric title
  • Globe Icon: Blue globe if published to community

Creating a New Fabric

Step-by-step:

  1. Click the + Add Fabric button
  2. The fabric editor panel opens
  3. Set fabric properties:
    • Name: Give your fabric a descriptive name
    • Right Side Color: The visible/outer color
    • Wrong Side Color: The back/inner color
    • Weight: Fabric weight category (optional)
    • Notes: Additional description (optional)
  4. Click Save

Adding Fabrics from Community

  1. Go to the Community tab or browse user profiles
  2. Find a fabric or fabric collection you like
  3. Click Add to Library on the fabric card
  4. The fabric is copied to your library with all its properties
  5. You can edit the copy without affecting the original
Fabric Collections

You can add entire fabric collections at once - great for curated color palettes or material sets shared by other makers.

Editing a Fabric

Method 1 - From card menu:

  1. Click the menu on a fabric card
  2. Select Edit
  3. Modify properties
  4. Click Save

Method 2 - Direct click:

  1. Click the fabric card
  2. The editor panel opens
  3. Make changes
  4. Click Save

Fabric Card Menu

Click the three-dot menu () on any fabric card:

Fabric Groups (Collections)

Organize fabrics into collections for better management.

Creating a Fabric Group

Step-by-step:

  1. Click the checkbox icon to enter selection mode
  2. Click fabric cards to select them (checkmark appears)
  3. Click Create Group button
  4. Enter a group name
  5. Add description (optional)
  6. Add tags, comma-separated (optional)
  7. Click Create

Viewing a Group

  1. Click the group card
  2. You'll see only fabrics in that group
  3. The header shows the group name
  4. Click Back to return to all fabrics

Moving Fabrics to a Group

  1. Enter selection mode ( checkbox icon)
  2. Select the fabrics you want to move
  3. Click Move to Group
  4. Choose the destination group from the list
  5. Fabrics are moved to the selected group

Editing a Group

  1. Click the menu on a group card
  2. Select Edit
  3. Change name, description, or tags
  4. Click Save

Deleting a Group

  1. Click the menu on a group card
  2. Select Delete
  3. Confirm deletion
  4. Note: Fabrics in the group are NOT deleted, they become ungrouped

Publishing a Fabric Group

  1. Click the menu on a group card
  2. Select Publish to Community
  3. The entire collection becomes available for others to add
  4. A blue globe icon appears on the group card

Searching Fabrics

  1. Use the search bar at the top
  2. Type part of the fabric name
  3. Results filter as you type
  4. Groups matching the search also appear

Sorting Fabrics

Click the Sort dropdown:

Published Filter

Click the Published button to show only fabrics and groups you've published:

  1. Click the Published button in the toolbar
  2. Button turns blue when active
  3. Only published fabrics and fabric groups are shown
  4. Click again to show all items

Selection Mode

Enter selection mode to perform bulk actions:

  1. Click the checkbox icon in the toolbar
  2. Click fabrics to select/deselect them
  3. Selected fabrics show a checkmark
  4. Available actions:
    • Create Group: Make a new group from selected
    • Move to Group: Move selected to existing group
    • Delete: Remove all selected fabrics
  5. Click the to exit selection mode
