Projects Tab
The Projects tab (/studio/projects) helps you organize patterns into project folders.
What is a Project?
A Project is a folder that groups your patterns and fabrics together for a specific build. Projects help you organize everything needed for a complete item in one place.
Projects can include:
- Patterns - Group multiple pattern pieces together
- Fabrics - Keep track of materials for the build
Examples:
- "Backpack Build" - front panel, back panel, straps patterns + selected fabrics
- "Client Commission" - all patterns and fabric choices for a custom order
- "Learning Samples" - practice patterns organized together
- "Messenger Bag v2" - iteration of a design with all pieces and materials
Working with Project Patterns
When you open a pattern that's part of a project:
- Layer sidebar shows the project context:
Project Name / Pattern Name - Fabric selection (in Fabrics section and shape settings) has a Project tab
- The Project tab shows only fabrics added to that project, making it easy to stay consistent with your material choices
This helps you quickly access the fabrics you've planned for the build without searching through your entire library.
Project Cards
Each project card shows:
- Name: Project title
- Pattern Count: Number of patterns inside
- Tags: Category labels (if added)
- Preview: Thumbnails of included patterns
- Last Updated: When the project was last modified

Best Practices
- Use descriptive names: "Sling Bag - Final" is better than "Project 1"
- Add descriptions: Note the purpose, client, or version info
- Use tags: Make projects easier to find later
- One project per build: Keep related patterns together
- Archive completed work: Rename old projects with "DONE -" prefix
